Self-care during pregnancy isn't about bubble baths (though those are nice). It's about giving yourself what you need, and asking for help without guilt.

Rest when your body asks

Tiredness in the first and third trimesters is real. Short naps, earlier bedtimes, and saying no to extra commitments aren't laziness. Your body is working hard.

Eat in a way that works for you

Nausea can make regular meals feel impossible. Small, frequent snacks often help. Ask your provider about prenatal vitamins and any foods to avoid, and tell them if you're having trouble keeping food or water down.

Keep moving, gently

For most people, regular movement like walking, swimming, or prenatal yoga is safe and helps with sleep, mood, and aches. Check with your provider about what's right for you.

Protect your mental health

Anxiety and depression are common during pregnancy, not only after it. If you feel persistently low, worried, or not like yourself, tell your provider. It's treatable, and you deserve support.

Build your circle

Think about who will help now and after the baby arrives: a partner, family, friends, a doula. Let them know how they can help.

Trust yourself

You know your body. If something feels wrong, get it checked. Here are the urgent warning signs to know.
